Kevin here.
From the bottom of our hearts, I'd like to thank all the fans on behalf of the band. All your love and support has been the fuel that has allowed us to do everything we've done over the course of these past four years. Right from the first Neutral Ground Coffee Shop gig way back when we were all wee lil' Loyola freshmen, you guys have been there for us cheering us along.

As you may be aware, Fay Wray is splitting up now and going our separate ways for while. Some of us are staying in New Orleans while others (myself included) are heading up to Chicago. Fay Wray is a family though, so I'm sure we'll all be in touch with each other.

I'd go so far as to suggest that a reunion would not be out of the question.

In the mean time, we'd love for you to check out what we're cookin' elsewhere. Here are some of the other projects us Fay Wray boys are affiliated with:

Steve Stokes and myself are starting a new band with Chicago, with Pat on drums while he's in town, called "Peacekeeper". We're finishing up a record now, but we've got some rough bounces on our MySpace: www.MySpace.com/PeacekeeperBand
Mike Girardot and Stephen MacDonald are, as you know also member of the great Antenna Inn as the great Big Rock Candy Mountain. Antenna Inn just released their new CD "Do/Work" and continue to be heavy-hitters in the New Orleans rock scene, and BRCM are just getting started with their regional wave of ass-kicking.
Their MySpaces are here: http://www.myspace.com/antennainn and http://www.myspace.com/brcmmusic

Also, I'd like to note that those of you that didn't get your own copy of "TUG LOVE" aren't out of luck, because we're going to continue selling the CDs online at CD Baby and on iTunes once that clears. CHECK IT OUT.

We couldn't have asked for a better finale than the Tipitina's show and we couldn't have asked for a better fanbase then y'all.

More live audio and video will be posted when it comes in, but for now, enjoy these pictures and know that we'll miss you all very much.
Yours truly,
Kevin Corcoran
<img style="float:left; We've got a copy for everyone. Come on down to the Hi-Ho Lounge and get yours.

For a little preview of the magic, check out our myspace page www.myspace.com/faywrayband. I've uploaded "Around the World" already, I'm gonna be posted a few tracks over the next few weeks, so as to tease you into a frenzy.
Also keep an eye out for some forthcoming music videos for the new tracks on YouTube. We've got some footage of us making the record to craft into a miniature documentary. Should be preeeeety fun.

ALSO, I'd like to thank all of you ladies and gentlemen for coming out to the final Fay Wray house party at Steve and Jack's place last Saturday. That was a night I shall not soon forget. ...Well, at least the parts of it I remember I'll remember forever. It was for sure on of my favorite shows we've ever done. Charlie being back in town was a blast. Behold, the greatest Fay Wray line up evar:
Classic.

(...I'm not quite sure why I'm making that face, though. I'm sure it seemed like the right thing to do at the time.)

I hope you guys all had a good time. They'll be a few of our modern classics in the mix, too.)

Ah... the 80s and 90s. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. It was the era of Hanson and New Kids on the Block, of Nirvana and Huey Lewis. There was no Wikipedia and facebook was just a twinkle in Mark Zuckerberg's eye. No CSI or Metalocalypse. No books about wizards and muggles. Only mullets and rattails and Ninja Turtles.

Sometimes I get choked up just thinking about it.

But anyway, it's $5 to get in and cheap drinks all night. Solve a Rubrick's cube and you drink for free! We played two shows, one in New Orleans at the Hi Ho Lounge and one in Covington at the Green Room and both went really great.
The Hi Ho is always a great place to play and Saturday was no exception. It was the one year anniversary of the reopening of the club, which was cool because we played there at their grand opening a year ago. In the past year they got themselves a real piano too, so I got the chance to bang out some Fay Wray on an acoustic keyboard. (No digital keyboard can replicate the feeling of those hammers hitting the strings). The surprise performance by "Team Hasselhoff" threw me off a little, but Nomadic Soul played a great set, and y'all getting down out there in the crowd made it an obscenely fun show.
The following night we boogied across the lake to Covington to play the Green Room for the Ozone Film Festival after party. Great films. Great bar. Great crowd. Another rousing success story for Fay Wray! Thanks to everyone who was out there dancing and to everyone who bought CDs! We love you, Covington.

So now we're getting a little time off. This weekend I'm going to the fly with some beer and a po boy, and I plan to aggressively take it easy. If anyone care to join me, you're more than welcome. Weather permitting, I should be out there Saturday afternoon (and probably Sunday afternoon too). Come on by and we'll have a party.
Much Love,
Kevin

HI HO HI HO.

SHOW THIS SATURDAY!
Its all, like, damn!
Right when you thought I was out of iconic movie images to use for my fliers: BAM! Hells yeah. And its a free show, so you should all totally come.
Secondly, we have a changing of the guard in Fay Wray. Charlie, as you know, has been taken away from us by the city of Chicago, but we shall overcome this loss with the help of a dear friend of ours. We'd like to introduce you all (or at least those of you who haven't had the pleasure of meeting him before) to Ted Long, our new bass player:

Isn't he dreamy? (Thanks to Claire for the pic.) You might have catch Ted playing with us before at the Battle of the Bands last year, in which case you would already know he rocks pretty hard.
I've finally gotten a hold of a few pictures of us during our time in Chicago, which I will share with you now. The first bunch of these were taken by Marlena Dzis this one night this summer when she invited the band and some other friends over to her house for a big Polish dinner. It was an incredible feast, which we washed down with some fine Polish beers, then had the time of our lives jamming with Marley and her dad. It was a night I will never forget. The rest were taken by Steve on his phone of us all chillin' in ChiTown.

Just a little glimpse of what were up to:
<img style="float:left; The basic tracks are down. Only a few final touches remain. Upcoming phases include "Phase 2: The Mixing and Mastering" and "Rush Hour 3"-- er, I mean, "Phase 3: Printing and Releasing".
Fay Wray has been dispersed from Chicago and Pat's kind and loving parents are free from our noise once again. Much thanks to the Fees and to the city of Chicago for treating us so well. But especially to the Fees!
Tuglove is shaping up very nicely indeed. Early estimates project a dozen or so songs, boatloads of innuendo and massive sex appeal. In other words: magic.
New Fay Wray shows begin September 7th!

P.S. - I'm a musician, not a photographer, so I don't have any pictures of us in Chicago really. I'm gonna try and get a hold of some that other people might have taken, but in the mean time, I thought I'd at least post this image from the 2002 academy award winning movie, "Chicago". Enjoy.

FAY WRAY LIVE! Hope is in sight!
This Wednesday, classes finally relent for Loyola University students and Fay Wray is going to help you all celebrate that blessed event!
We're having an end of year, knock-down drag-out take-no-prisoners dance party at Jack and Steve's house over on Willow and Lowerline. We're gonna have to charge a five buck cover to handle the expenses and raise money for our album, "TugLove" which we're recording over the summer in Chicago, but don't you fret. We went out there and did our thing and rocked LSU like it had never been rocked before! We played on a huge stage, blasting our music at volume levels that I believe are unprecedented in the history of Fay Wray. Also we got ourselves projected up onto the big screens flanking the stage. We are now part of the great Mass Media!
We also had a chance to debut our new song "Blueberry", a ballad about pastries. Look to see it again at future shows.
Also, thanks to everyone who came out to hang with us and Much Thanks to Jay Moore for setting that whole thing up! It was a great experience and Mr. Moore is a gentlemen and a scholar. All the Students on Target guys were hella cool, and we hope to chill with them again next time we get out to Baton Rouge (which probably wont be til next fall.
NEXT UP: Tipitina's show on May 11th with Antenna Inn and The City Life. Every year LSU holds a giant outdoor concert and gets some big acts from around the country to come rock out at their parade grounds with ferris wheels and vendors and all sorts of magical fun. Its a free show and usually draws a big crowd. This event is known as "Groovin' on the Grounds".
As the fates would have it, this year Fay Wray is gonna be rocking out at Groovin of the Grounds, opening up for Chevelle and Mark Broussard, because we won the Battle of the Bands at LSU back in October. This means we're going to be playing in front of easily the biggest crowd we've ever played for, with somewhere over a thousand people attending.
Just a year ago we were straggling along, trying to get our act together with displaced band members and infrequent gigs, so its really exciting to have come so far. Thanks to all our boys and girls out there for keeping the faith.
Groovin' is this Friday, April 20th, and we're playing at around 6pm. We'd love to have some of our New Orleans hommies there to rock out and party with us afterward.

#2. Fay Wray going to Chicago this summer!
All five of us are gonna be chilling in Chicago this summer, keeping it real, seeing the sites, recording our new album "Tug Love" and trying to get some gigs. Chicago is a really cool city, so it'll be really great chance for us to work on our music, cook up some BBQ in Pat's back yard (Pat is a Chicagoland native) and try our luck in the Windy City.
If any of y'all are gonna be in Chicago this summer, keep in touch with us and we'll definitely hang out. We roll out in a month.

#3. We're going to try and shoot a video for "Ill Tempered Comments" before we roll out to Chicago, and I just wanted to call out to our fans of the female persuasion in New Orleans to see if any of y'all might be interested in being our video?
For part of the video we need some ladies who might be willing to lip synch to the lyrics of the song. Its really as simple as that. Nothing salacious or edgy, just good wholesome lipsynching fun. It'd be a great opportunity for anyone looking to unleash their inner lead singer of Fay Wray.
I was hoping to edit quickly between a whole series of girls lipsynching the song, so I'll need to get together about 10 or 15 of y'all that might be interested.
If you think you might be down, shoot me over an email at FayWrayBand@gmail.com.

#4. I think I might sense a house party coming on, somewhere in the next few weeks...

Fay Wray for sale!

Hey everybody! We finally got ourselves some of that new-fangled online distribution! "The Sweet Life" is now for sale on our Myspace page, so you can download our music and rock out to it where ever in this wide world you might be. Burn it to a CD and rock with it in your car (but don't forget to watch the road!)! Slap that puppy onto your portable mp3 player and take it to the streets (but don't forget to watch for traffic!)! Burn it onto a CD and throw it in the air! The possibilities are endless! The power is yours my friends.

Also, you may have heard a little rumour that Fay Wray now has buttons. THAT IS CORRECT. I think we may have nearly run out already, but we made whole boatload of buttons and handed them out at our last couple shows. Hopefully we'll get to make some more as time goes on.

Also, what's in a Butterfinger anyway? Is it really just some sort of butter based crisp or what?
